Welcome to the Color Room’s First annual Blog HOP....

...yippee it's time for the very first "the color room" blog hop...

We are celebrating our 50th Palette, and we have some amazing things to share with you this week.

You have just come from  "LARISSA'S BLOG", and i bet you were blown away that girl is one seriously awesome chick!

Here is what I created from the ‘whitewashed’ His Room Palette

"life's little treasures"

UP-CLOSE AND PERSONAL with.....“Leeann” (aka miss wally)

1.    I am from.........Capel - Western Australia and I am currently Designing for... Helmar, Stuff 2 Scrap, Scrapping Clearly, The Polka Dot Place Kit Club and of course The Color Room.
2.    I Live with - My DH Quentin and 3 Gorgeous daughters Holly , Storm and Jorja

3.    On my desk right now you will find... room for you to come over and scrap!!!

4.    My favorite colors to work with at the moment are fresh shabby shades a little brighter than pastel tones  ... like teal, cream, red, pink flamingo, and yellow.
5.    What kind of themes do you often scrap?  I scrap for pure enjoyment but I also like to record some stories.
6.    Where do I scrap?  In the chilli room...
7. I also have my own little shop called  "the chip chop shop" it's full of yummy handmade scrappy items.

8.    What is your scrapping process?  depends on the mood... but most of the time i grab all my supplies and start throwing them around and then at the end i kinda look for a photo or the other way...lol
9.    My favorite food is... lamb with lots of mint sauce ( i was a kiwi )
10.    My top 3 favorite tools are - sewing machine, paper piercer, croc-a-dile
11. I get my inspiration from - home deco for texture and scrappy blog and forums galleries and also magazines.
12. Describe a Technique you used on your project this week - "Coloring bakers twine with glimmer mist"

Step 1: Grab a glass jar and place some twine and mini wooden pegs inside
Step 2: Grab your glimmer mist and spray.
Step 3: Use a small stick and swish the twine and pegs around  so that it soaks up all the mist.
Step 4: Once you have plenty on there take out your twine and pegs and let them dry.
Step 5:Now just have some fun scrapping with them.

Please feel free to try this technique on your challenge this week and join us at the Color room and participate HERE
Remember to leave a comment answering the question below to be in the running for this weeks special prize...

What is my scrap room called?

Next you are heading to "LENE BLOG"  I cant wait to see what she has done with the palette

today we have a colouful share.....

OK seriously it's the march release of the polka dot place kit... and all i have to say it YUM divine and I want another one.... everything in this kit is just gorgeous these a heap of pattern papers and oodles  of embellishments!!!!

Look HERE
I've created 4 pages and have a few little quick tips and technique for you that i will share on the BLOG ...

"she draws"

 "itty bitty explorer"

i've had a number of requests from scrappers that read the SBM 13 - 3 as they showed some of my scrappy space in the mag. So here are some of the peg boards that were in the making at the time of the write up. I've got more coming but i am just cruising along there's not hurry!

...here's how i made them, was really easy old canvas (no canvas) frames and peg board ( from your hardware store) cut it  to size - nail  it on - give it coat of paint - adhere a hook.  And hang them like a picture.

"miss wally's space"

a project using foam and helmars foam craft glue something that i LOVE...  you can check the BLOG for great pages and projects using helamrs adhevsies!

 "you complete me"

....AUSSIE SCRAP SOURCE - make it yourself challenge...  i love the challenges that are being posted each week.... take a LOOK and play along...

Here’s how I made mine
I drew a couple of clouds on card stock and cut them out and used them as a template and trace around them all over the background. I then outlined them all with a black gel pen. Once finish I colored them in with paint and also a white gel pen. Then I hand cut a banner out of scrappy paper and use it as a mask, using glimmer mist. Once the glimmer mist dried I used machine stitching to outline the banner.

What a bonus I actually had some plain paper copier transparency film. All I did was print a photo on to the transparency film, and then transferred it by rubbing it onto Kraft cardstock. The end result was more of a canvas finish. I like the result and will try this again. You do have to have the right transparency film to get the best result.
The possibilities are endless!

"fairy tales"

...aussie scrap source have a fantastic challenge happening - why not check it out!

This was the first weeks challenge - making backgrounds using paints mists medium what ever you could get you hands on!!

"cupcake"

I love this making memories foam stamp and I’ve had it for years… I’ve used it for lots of things and this is one way I like to use it.

How to create my background:

- Place a Couple of strips of masking tape on your card stock.
- Pick a color and paint the masking tape. Allow to dry
- Paint the entire background with white gesso. Be generous.
- While the gesso is wet use you stamp and stamp the entire background.
- Spray a little shimmerz on the stamp and randomly stamp in places. This adds a subtle hint of another color.
- let it dry.
- Now scrap it.

I love the pattern and texture this gives!
